- Einhyrningur - Mount Einhyrningur (750m) is situated between the small Tindfjoll Glacier and the bridge over River Markarfljot on the Emstrur Route. The name “The Unicorn” comes from the mountain’s unique shape. Although its slopes are quite steep, it is not overly challenging to climb. At the base of the mountain, on the “Unicorn Plains,” there is a hut used by farmers from Fljotshlid County during the late summer sheep roundup. Driving time between stops is included.
- Maelifell - Mælifell rises 200 meters above its surroundings and is a composite cone volcano formed by eruptions beneath the Myrdalsjökull glacier. It emerged around 10,000 years ago as glaciers retreated after the last ice age. Besides walking, Mount Mælifell is accessible only by a 4WD vehicle. It is located on the southern Fjallabak road near the Mýrdalsjökull glacier. The road is often wet and occasionally flooded, making the volcano accessible only from July to early October. Driving time between stops is included.
- Mælifellssandur - This expansive sand and gravel plain lies north of the Myrdalsjokull glacier. To the north is the vibrant rhyolite and geothermal area known as Torfajokull. Travelers should be cautious of quagmires, which can be hazardous in the area. Driving time between stops is included.
- Alftavatn Lake - Lake Álftavatn is a favored spot for anglers seeking Arctic char. It is near stunning natural sites such as Grashagi, Torfafit, Ljósártungur, Jökultungur, Ófæruhöfði, Útigönguhöfði, Hvanngilshnausar, Torfatindur, Sáta, Brattháls, and Hvanngil. The Álftavatn lodge area is part of Laugavegur, one of Iceland’s most renowned hiking trails, stretching from Landmannalaugar to Þórsmörk. Driving time between stops is included.
- Hvanngil - Hvanngil is a small valley that has been a popular rest stop for travelers between Landmannalaugar and Þórsmörk. It features a shepherds’ hut and accommodation, and offers excellent hiking opportunities. A marked walking route (Laugavegur) leads to Hrafntinnusker and Landmannalaugar to the north, and Emstrur and Þórsmörk to the south. Driving time between stops is included.
- Reykjavik - Guests will be returned to their hotel in Reykjavík or another preferred location in Reykjavík.
