Great way to spend an afternoon! - We’ve been coming to Roatan for many years now and don’t really do the tour activities at this stage. But some friends invited us to this cooking class and I’m glad we said yes. Getting to learn about the history of the island was great. The cooking part of the experience was fun and the food was delicious. One of our group members does not eat chicken yet the coconut chicken seemed to disappear from his plate! A big thank you for the wonderful afternoon.

Must try experience! - We had a lovely time, the food was tasty and fun to make, the space was very nice, clean and had a view of the water. We received a hands on experience making empanadas and tostones. Our chef/driver (Shauna) was very friendly as was her manager (Louis) who assisted during the class. We would definitely recommend this tour. On top of the cooking class, we also learned about the culture and people of Roatan, tried some local casava and coconut bread along with a tasty coconut dessert. The tour was 3-4 hours and we even had a moment to stop at a local grocery store on the way back to the port, to purchase a few items to make the empanadas at home since we were also provided with recipes for all the items we made. Only thing of note was exiting the port (we were there on a cruise ship) was a bit chaotic, just so many people trying to sell you on their tour or taxi. However, everyone was helpful though when we asked for the "Five Stars" company and we were walked over to a rep who called our driver for us.

Made us feel like family! - We had such a great time on this excursion. Very hands on and personal. We learned a lot about the culture and history of food on the island and also learned to make some delicious food as well as eating food they prepared for us and getting a goodie bag to take home!

Cooking and Culture - This was more than a cooking class. From the moment we were picked up from our hotel, the guide gave us a history of the island and it's people. We were really made to feel at home at the beautiful house where the cooking class was held. While this was not an intensive cooking class, we were able to get a great cultural experience with very lovely guides. In the end we were served a delicious lunch, with the items we cooked, plus some chicken that the host made. The only thing I would do differently is not to eat breakfast prior to coming.

Come hungry - We had an amazing time. We love food and to cook and this was our favorite part of the trip. Chef Shauna was great sharing not only how to make the food, but about the culture of the island. She was patient with those of us who weren’t as experienced in the kitchen and we had an amazing time. Most importantly the food was delicious. Come hungry as this was the best thing we ate on the island all week. Everything was great and we were stuffed. 10/10 would do again.

Exceeded My Expectations - and I Had Very High Expectations - I have been to Roatan many times. I’ve seen the monkeys, sloths, mangroves, etc. many times. I wanted something different. I signed up with 9 friends to do the cooking class. It was super easy working with them to coordinate everything. Upon arrival, JB greeted us and was our driver. He was AMAZING. He was courteous and professional - yet still fun. It was pouring rain, and he took great care of us. The cooking class was phenomenal. They did an excellent job even though it was pouring rain. The class was fun and interactive - AND delicious. I’m so glad we did this tour. I’m stopping on the island again in February - and we plan to do it again. I highly recommend this!
