A truly unique experience. - This is truly a unique tour and a great way to experience the Maori culture. It is a must do for anyone wanting to understand the origins of the New Zealand people. It is wheelchair accessible and is also easy to get around for anyone with mobility issues. Everyone who works / lives here are very helpful and friendly.

Immerse yourself in another culture - It was very nice to dive into the knowledge of the maori. I liked the singing of a maori best before we started.

Interesting and some beautiful views - Our guide Phillip was lovely and super informative. Loved his little jokes throughout the tour. Corn was extra yummy and the geysers were very active. Recommend for sure!

An incredible guided tour of Whakarewarewa - Our visit to Whakarewarewa - The Māori Living Village today was incredible. The guided tour was a real highlight, made especially memorable by our wonderful guide, Faye. Her knowledge was outstanding, and we are so grateful for the way she shared her whānau stories and whakapapa so openly with our group. Thank you, Faye, for deepening our understanding of the Māori gods and how they connect so meaningfully to the geothermal activity throughout Rotorua, it truly brought the landscape to life. Tasting corn cooked in the geothermal hot pool was a unique experience we’ll never forget! This was a fantastic and enriching experience for our children as well as ourselves. After the guided tour we bought an ice-cream and the commenced our self guided tour of the geothermal trails which was magnificent. We highly recommend Whakarewarewa to anyone visiting Rotorua and wanting to experience an authentic living village.

Awesome cultural experience learning about the geothermal environment lead by Daniel the most awesome guide - The cultural experience looked at the natural environment around the geothermal pools. We learnt about the various botanical varieties and the uses. Daniel discussed the different springs and how they were used. We followed it up with the cultural experience where we got to experience dances and songs.

Enjoyed the experience but felt rushed as group size too big - The guided tour was very interesting, but there were nearly 30 in our group. It made the time seem very rushed, and our guide (who was excellent) had to spend lots of time chivvying people along - so there was little time for questions. I would suggest a maximum of 15 people to make everyone feel valued.

Very nice and interesting tour - The tour was very nice, it would still be nice to have an audio guide in several languages. The cooked corn is a good idea.
