An amazing day spent inside a historic village - This was more than a tourist attraction, this was an invitation into the Moari homes. Our guide was fantastic, the experience was amazing. The day went by so quickly. If you want to experience the history and culture this is a must do experience.

Great cultural experience - A great cultural experience getting to see and hear about the resident community. Our guide made it fun and shared his passion for his home. Seeing the geo thermal activity was great and hearing how they utilise it in their daily lives. Best sweetcorn I have tasted. Thanks to all who made the experience a memorable one.

Great Intro to Maori Culture - The staff here were fantastic. The site was just fantastic. Everyone was so pleasant. For us, the introduction to Maori culture was more than enough. Depending on your tour, (we had the all day tour), you can get to walk unsupervised through various parts of the village, including landscape. We had a hangi lunch during our time (definitely worth having)

Wonderful cultural and geothermal experience! - This was one of our favorite experiences in New Zealand. Our guide was authentic, informative and enjoyable to be around. He gave thoughtful answers to questions and did a fabulous job of explaining many aspects of Maori history. The geothermal features of the village were fascinating and we were lucky enough to see the geyser go off.

Book a tour don’t go alone - The actual tour was great and very informative. Would think just walking around the place by yourself (that is an option) would be a waste of money. Was disappointed to arrive at 8.45 for our 9am tour to be told the time had changed to 10am - they had our contact details so felt lacked communication.

Worth a look - Good value for money, but a little too short. The guides (each group had a different guide) spoke about different things and therefore it was a little off cuff. Still enjoyable and the Maori performance was great!
