Karnak Temples
Karnak is the most awe-inspiring site in Egypt. It is the largest temple complex ever constructed by humans, showcasing the collective efforts of numerous generations of ancient builders and pharaohs. The Temple of Karnak comprises three main temples, smaller enclosed temples, and several outer temples, all spread over 247 acres.
- Lunch will be provided at an Egyptian restaurant, followed by check-in at a 5-star hotel.
- Luxor Temple - In the evening, guests will be picked up again to experience Luxor Temple at night:
The Temple of Luxor was the focal point of the significant Opet festival. Primarily constructed by Amenhotep III and Rameses II, the temple served as the venue for the festival’s rituals, which aimed to harmonize the ruler’s human aspect with the divine office.
Afterward, guests will return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
- Valley of the Kings - Day Two:
Following breakfast, guests will be picked up from the hotel to explore the West Bank of Luxor.
Valley of the Kings:
This site is the final resting place for Egypt’s rulers from the 18th to the 20th dynasty, including the tombs of the great Pharaoh Ramses II and the young Pharaoh Tutankhamen. The tombs were filled with all the material goods a ruler might require in the afterlife. The decorations inside the tombs remain well-preserved.
- Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - Hatshepsut Temple:
This temple is among the most beautiful and best-preserved of all Ancient Egyptian temples. It was constructed on three levels, with two wide ramps centrally positioned to connect the levels.
- Colossi of Memnon - Colossi of Memnon:
These two enormous stone statues of King Amenhotep III are the only remnants of a complete mortuary temple. The statues are crafted from quartzite sandstone blocks originally located in Cairo and transported 700 KM to Luxor.
