Uniquely situated on a traffic island, the museum is triangular in shape and resembles a ship!
• Museum of Christian Art - The next stop on the Goa Museum Tour is the Museum of Christian Art, the only one of its kind in Asia. A guided tour here reveals the opulence of Indo-Portuguese Christian Art from Goa. Each item in the museum showcases the vast wealth of Goa’s churches. Notably, many pieces were crafted by local Hindu artists! During the Portuguese era, the demand for religious artwork was high, and imports from Portugal were not feasible. Consequently, Hindu artists were commissioned to create the religious artworks.
• Archeological Museum GoaEDC Complex Goa - Established in 1964, the ASI Museum is located in the convent section of the Church of St. Francis of Assisi. The exhibits span from the prehistoric and early historic periods to the late medieval period. A knowledgeable guide will illuminate the importance of the collection, which includes portrait paintings of governors and viceroys, wooden sculptures, pillars, capitals, postal stamps, and other artifacts from the Portuguese era in Goa.
