Fantastic tour requiring a head for heights - A stunning cathedral, our second visit We did the tower tour today , with Rebecca as our fantastic and hugely knowledgeable guide. Such an interesting tour behind the scenes and up in the roof and tower of the cathedral. Not for anyone who doesn’t like heights or confined spaces and 332 stairs to climb , some agility needed. Would highly recommend this tour the views at the top spectacular.Take some time to look at the history etched in to the fabric of the building by stone masons and workers from the 1800’s . And the choir singing at the end of the tour was just such a wonderful treat to be able to listen too !!

A place to relax, recollect and restore. - Salisbury Cathedral is my favourite religious site. Salisbury was built around the cathedral, so it is the heart of the town. Surrounded by beautiful little cottages, amazing sights of the river Avon, water meadows with sheep grazing there since the 17th century, hosts of daffodils in early spring. Beautiful stained glass windows, concerts, inspiring religious services. Very kind guides who willingly answer questions. I stayed at Sarum College just opposite the cathedral. It was a most relaxing, restoring and recollecting stay.
