Safari to the Clouds

Quebrada Del Toro (The Toro Gorge) - The tour kicks off from our central Salta offices at 06:15 am. Thanks to the advanced capabilities of our vehicles, the “Safari to the Clouds” uniquely combines three remarkable tours of the Argentine Northwest into one unforgettable day:
First, the “Road to the Clouds,” tracing the path of the renowned Train to the Clouds, showcasing this incredible engineering feat that began in the 1920s from Quebrada del Toro to San Antonio de los Cobres.
Secondly, we will visit the “Viaducto de La Polvorilla.” On our return, we will stop in the quaint town of Santa Rosa de Tastil for lunch and a brief rest. Later, we will explore the Archaeological Museum and take a walk through the Atacama ruins.

San Antonio de los Cobres - We will pause for lunch in San Antonio de los Cobres, and after dining, we will proceed to the renowned Viaducto de la Polvorilla.

Salinas Grandes - Next, we’ll journey along Route No 40 to reach the Salinas Grandes at the Jujuy border.

Purmamarca - We will descend via Cuesta de Lipán, a 2,000-meter descent over 22 km, where we can observe condors and witness the transition from the puna desert to the fertile valleys, arriving at the charming village of Purmamarca.

After this stop, we will return to Salta, enjoying a light snack on the bus. We expect to arrive at our meeting point in Salta City by 6:00 pm.

The Hill of Seven Colors - Purmamarca is nestled at the base of the famous Cerro de los Siete Colores.

Rafting Adventure

Province of Salta - This rafting adventure will take you through over 12 class II and III rapids, concluding around noon at the canyon base, where a delightful Argentinean Asado awaits.

We will depart from downtown Salta (Caseros 177) to the Juramento River Canyon (a 2-hour drive from Salta’s capital). There, we will meet our guide, who will provide a brief instructional talk on rafting and safety. After receiving our equipment, we will begin navigating the rapids of the Juramento River. The journey includes 12 distinct class II and III rapids, set against the stunning backdrop of the Juramento River Canyon.

Province of Salta - Lunch: At Los Lapachos, our vehicles will be ready to take us back to the base, where a delicious lunch awaits: a traditional asado featuring various cuts of meat, sausages, and salads, along with water and juices.

Province of Salta - Spend the rest of the afternoon at your leisure, exploring the surroundings independently. At approximately 4:00 p.m., we will commence our return journey to Salta City, arriving at the original departure point.
