Absolutely worth the... - Absolutely worth the price especially when you consider it got us access to the Legion of Honor which we enjoyed way more than De Young, but that’s just personal taste about the collection. Both are worth visiting!

Museum at the park - Tuesday is free for general admission, which is when we went. The room of glass sculptures stood out the most to me but there were many other things displayed. They also have an observation deck which gives amazing views of the city, which was great for our first full day on the west coast!

One Fine Day Appreciating American Art - On a pleasant April day in San Francisco,I spent one fine day enjoying the Deyoung Art Museum's very comprehensive collection of American Art.This review is dedicated to the De Young's collection of paintings relating to the natural beauty of the United States from the 19th Century until the present date. The following landscape paintings at the DeYoung Art Museum intrigued me;Gustav Grunewald's"Niagara River At Cataract",Thomas Cole's "Prometheous Bound"(combines Mythology with Transcendentialism),Frederick Church's"Twilight"(Hudson River School),Albert Bierstadt's"Spring in California",William Keith's "Broadside of Mount Tamalpais",William Haseltine's"Indian Rock,Naragansett,Rhode Island",Thomas Birch's"Narrows,New York Bay",Charles Burchfield's"Spring Flood",Edward Hopper's"Orleans,Cape Cod"(actully this is a townscape),Ernest Lawson's"Harlem River at Highbridge",and Richard Diebenkorn's"Berkeley",among others.. If and when you visit the DeYoung Art Museum, you will develop a greater appreciation of American Art.

We enjoyed the Beatles exhibit - We visited the museum to check out Paul McCartneys photos when the Beatles were just becoming famous in the USA. It was an interesting exhibit and really highlighted how far photography has come! We also went through some other parts of the museum which were also great.

Tremendous Treasure - Huge. Diverse. Phenomenal. Can I complain that it is just too much? No, that is on me. If I lived there I would be a member. As it is, hard to imagine being in San Francisco and not going. Quite a but around corners, so pay attention. And don’t miss the store.

Best Museum in San Francisco - Great SF Museum. This museum has great special exhibitions. Every-time I come. This time it was the Fashion of San Francisco. Famous dress designers had beautiful assortments of dresses on display on mannequins. The rest of the galleries have art works and artifacts from all over. It’s in Golden Gate and will worth it. I am a member which is great to get in anytime. It’s easy to Uber to the location. It’s my fav besides Legion of Honor.

Excellent Paul McCartney Photograpy exhibit - We went to the DeYoung to see the Paul McCartney photography exhibit and it didn't disappoint. It was interesting to see the candid photos of the Beatles and other people associated with the band. The exhibit was much larger than we expected which was a nice surprise.

A nice museum we almost missed. - We visited the Palace of Honour and the tickets there gave us free admission to this museum. It is located near the Botanical garden and opposite the California institute of sciences. They have exhibits on two floors and a viewing tower. The exhibits vary from sculpture to, paintings, Native American artefacts and an outdoor sculpture garden. The parking is underground probably shared with the California Institute of sciences. They also have a cafeteria which we skipped due to lack of time. The exhibits are interesting and take some time for proper appreciation. We could spare only three hours. The viewing tower gives a good view of the city and the surrounding areas. There was a fashion display which was for a limited time. The only issue was that we got confused on the proper route to follow to cover all the exhibits. Otherwise it was a great place.

Value depends on the special exhibit - Whether to go to this museum really depends on the special exhibit. The regular works weren’t really interesting compared to what you can see in LA, New York, London or Paris. We were interested in the fashion special exhibit, which was small but interesting. I’m not sure if it was worth the admission price, but we didn’t regret the visit or time.
