Rare insights into Shinjuku - The Shinjuku walking tour provides access to areas tourists would be unlikely to discover, back streets, bars and restaurants , a shrine in the middle of the metropolis. I definitely recommend this tour , especially good if you start your visit with it . Like everywhere in Tokyo plan carefully so you can find the meeting place . There is a bit of walking but it's not too strenuous.

In-depth tour of Shinjuku with a welcoming guide - The guide Mao was very friendly and knowledgeable and took me through the historic Omoide Yokocho and Golden Gai bar districts as well as the relatively new Kabukicho Tower. She showed me how to pray at Hanazono Shrine, translated my fortune, and even helped me find a plushie I was looking for at Kiddy Land! The tour was a great introduction to Japanese culture, including the less savory side of Shinjuku, and I would strongly recommend to anyone looking to get a deeper understanding of that neighborhood!

A great way to orient yourself when arriving in Shinjuku - This walking tour was the first thing we did the morning after a late night arrival in Tokyo and was the best thing we could have done. Our guide Mao spoke excellent English and was well informed and charming. She showed us really interesting places from a narrow street filled with tiny traditional eateries to the red light distrct and Kabuchicho tower filled with modern entertainment. She also helped us to understand Japanese culture and gave us great tips for inexpensive places to eat. Would definitely recommend.
