• Tangalle - 1 hour and 30 minutes -
  Experience the stunning beaches of Southern Sri Lanka as our drivers pick you up from hotels in the Hiriketiya, Tangalle, Dikwella, Rekawa, Nilwella, and Mawella areas. The pick-up vehicle will be an air-conditioned car or minivan with luggage space. Pick-up times are scheduled for the Morning Safari at 3:30 a.m. and the Afternoon Safari at either 12:00 p.m. if you wish to have lunch beforehand, or 12:30 p.m. The journey will commence with the goal of reaching Tissamaharama in time to arrive at the YALA main entrance punctually.
• Tissamaharama - Upon arrival, you will disembark at the Ajith Safari Jeep Tours office in Debarawewa, Tissamaharama, where you can pay for meals if requested. Then, board the safari vehicle. We exclusively use the robust Toyota Hilux 4x4 vehicles, specially designed to handle the diverse off-road conditions of YALA National Park. Each safari vehicle features 6 individual seats, offering guests a 270-degree view.
• Yala National Park - Game Drive 1: From 6:00 a.m. to approximately 8:00 a.m.
  This is the first highlight of the day.
  Embark on an exhilarating wilderness adventure in Yala, home to the world’s densest population of leopards!

The Sri Lankan leopard is a subspecies native to Sri Lanka, with YALA hosting around a hundred individual leopards.

This Game Drive spans the first two hours of the day (6 a.m. to 8 a.m.), known among wildlife enthusiasts as the “Golden Hours,” offering the best chance to spot the elusive Sri Lankan leopards and many other animals. You will be inside YALA, observing the wildlife with guidance from our experienced driver-guide.

There is also the possibility of encountering Sloth Bears, Elephants, Crocodiles, Monkeys, Spotted Deer, Mongoose, Birds, and a variety of other species.

Our top priority is your comfort and safety, so we use only the rugged Toyota Hilux 4X4 vehicles for the Game Drives.

• Patanangala - At the conclusion of the first game drive, you will have a break to refresh at Patanangala beach within YALA National Park, facing the Indian Ocean.

Enjoy breakfast during the break. Breakfast is not included in this tour, but it can be requested for an additional charge of 8 USD per person.

Sri Lankan picnic breakfast includes Plain Hopper, Egg Hopper, Rotti, Coconut Sambol, Sini Sambol, and Sri Lankan fruits.

• Yala National Park - After the break, embark on the second game drive of the day, lasting 1 hour.

Marvel at the sight of majestic elephants, graceful spotted deer, and elusive sloth bears, among a plethora of other mesmerizing species. Your knowledgeable driver-guide will share insights into the behaviors and habitats of YALA’s diverse wildlife, enriching your safari experience. With every moment promising an unforgettable encounter, YALA offers a sanctuary where the extraordinary becomes the norm.

• Tissamaharama - After completing the second game drive, exit YALA National Park and travel to Tissamaharama in the safari vehicle.
  Disembark from the safari vehicle and board the transfer vehicle.
• Lahugala - 3 hours - Transfer from Tissamaharama to Arugam Bay
  The road to Arugam Bay runs near the border of Lahugala Kitulana National Park. While passing through the Lahugala area, you will often see elephants by the roadside.
• Arugam Bay - This is where you will be dropped off.

Return to your hotel in the Arugam Bay beach area, filled with memories of a lifetime and a newfound appreciation for the wonders of one of Sri Lanka’s most majestic wilderness spots.

As an authorized company to offer safari services in YALA National Park, all of our 4X4 vehicles have necessary approvals & all of our drivers have the special licenses to provide their service as safari drivers in the YALA National Park - issued by the Department of Wildlife Conservation in Sri Lanka.

• Please be informed that the entrance fees for the YALA National Park is not included in this package.
• You must pay the fees at the entrance in cash in Sri Lankan Rupees (Rs. 11,000/- , approx. $37 per person) or through a credit card. (There is no facility at present at the YALA National Park entrance to make cash payments in foreign currencies)
• The total duration of the Tour is around 9 hours and 30 minutes. This includes 3 hours and 30 minutes inside the YALA National Park, 2 hours to Pick up and reach to the entrance and 4 hours to Drop off after the safari.
