The journey then proceeds eastward to Tarangire National Park. This park is situated along the Tarangire River and is characterized by low-lying hills on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. The natural landscape is predominantly Acacia woodland and features majestic African Baobab trees, with expansive swamp areas to the south. During Tanzania’s dry season, the river and swamps attract a multitude of wildlife. Tarangire National Park is renowned for hosting some of Africa’s largest elephant herds. A delightful picnic lunch will be enjoyed within the park, followed by thrilling morning and afternoon game drives along the Tarangire River. In the late afternoon, the group will depart for Arusha, concluding the safari adventure.

Great place to watch elephants - Thanks for the amazing day trip from Arusha to Tarangire NP. Enjoyed it very much though the drive is quite long and made it a long day. It took more than 3 hours in the morning to get there, on the way back it was a bit shorter. We had only one day, with more days available its better to stay closer to the park and visit one of the other parks nearby and start the viewing earlier in the morning.
