From the gate, travel to the Crater Rim and take a few moments to enjoy the breathtaking view of the Crater from above, then descend to the crater floor for a day of game driving.
Ngorongoro Crater is one of the largest intact calderas in the world and is among the most stunning sights in all of Africa. All of the BIG FIVE—Rhino, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, and Elephant—reside in this magnificent caldera, along with Zebra, Hippo, Wildebeest, Hyena, and more. Birds include flamingos on the Soda lake, Geese, Storks, Vultures, and many other bird families.
Your picnic lunch will be served at the Crater picnic site at Ngoitokok swamp, a Hippo pool. After lunch, continue with afternoon game viewing. At 3:00 PM, ascend the Crater and drive back to Arusha.
