Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park - With a packed lunch, the journey from Arusha begins with a two-hour drive through the Maasai steppe to Tarangire National Park. Upon entering the park, visitors are welcomed by a landscape adorned with majestic baobabs rising from the acacia parkland, creating a stunning backdrop for the large herds of African elephants roaming among them. Other mammals sharing this habitat include lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, black-backed jackals, Kirk’s dik-diks, dwarf and banded mongoose, impalas, Beisa oryxes, steinboks, and African hares. Expect to see buffalos, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and waterbucks. Bird enthusiasts may spot the Maasai ostrich, white-headed vulture, African scops owl, and the endemic ashy starling. Lunch will be enjoyed in the park. Later in the afternoon, the journey continues to Kizumba Campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.
Tarangire National Park – Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, the drive to Central Serengeti National Park begins, leading to an afternoon game drive. The journey opens onto the Serenora Valley, a vibrant wildlife area at the heart of the Serengeti, renowned for its resident animal population. Visitors can expect to see wildebeests, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes, numerous birds, and other species. Dinner and an overnight stay are at Seronera Campsite.
Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - After breakfast at the camp, a full day of game drives around Central Serengeti awaits. The Serengeti offers arguably the most thrilling game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalos, smaller groups of elephants and giraffes, and hundreds of elands, topis, kongonis, impalas, and Grant’s gazelles.
The spectacle of predators versus prey dominates Tanzania’s greatest park. Golden-maned lion prides feast on the abundance of plain grazers. Solitary leopards haunt the acacia trees lining the Seronera River, while high densities of cheetahs prowl the southeastern plains. Almost uniquely, all three African jackal species occur here, alongside the spotted hyena and a host of more elusive small predators, ranging from the insectivorous aardwolf to the beautiful serval cat. All meals and accommodation are at Seronera Campsite.
Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Highlands
Serengeti National Park - An early wake-up is recommended for an early morning game drive when the animals are more active, offering one of the most breathtaking sunrises imaginable. After the game drive, return to the camp for a rewarding brunch before proceeding to Ngorongoro, the 8th Wonder of the Natural World. The crater spans 102 sq miles with 2,000 ft high walls, making it virtually a Noah’s ark, home to almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa. It’s one of the few places on the continent where the black rhino can be seen. The concentration of African wildlife is the greatest on the continent. The crater features a river, several swamps, a soda lake with a great concentration of flamingos, a forest, and open plains. It’s also famous for its elephants, which are the largest in the world and have huge tusks, thanks to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses.
Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
Ngorongoro Crater - The day begins very early with a descent into the crater floor for an incredible morning of wildlife in one of the most stunning places on earth. After the game drive, there will be time for a picnic lunch near the beautiful Hippo Lake. Following lunch, there will be time for a short game drive before ascending the crater and exiting Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards Arusha. The return to Arusha is expected around 5 pm, with flexibility for flight schedules or other situations.
