Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve (Nyerere NP)

Selous Game Reserve - Guests will be picked up from their hotel in Dar es Salaam at 08:00 AM for a 4-hour drive to Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve).

Upon arrival, guests will check in and embark on a boat tour. This delightful excursion offers stunning views of the Rufiji River, home to numerous hippos, crocodiles, and vibrant birdlife.

The sunset from the boat is breathtaking, offering a peaceful experience as the sun sets over the horizon. The activity concludes at 06:00 PM, followed by a return to the accommodation.

Guided Game Drive in Selous Game Reserve (Nyerere NP)

Selous Game Reserve - After breakfast at 07:00 AM, guests will enjoy a full-day game drive in Nyerere National Park with packed lunch boxes. Expect to see lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and other major species like hunting dogs and birds.

Lunch will be taken at noon, and the game drive will continue into the evening, led by an expert guide who will navigate the park for an unforgettable experience.

Another Guided Game Drive across Selous Game Reserve

Selous Game Reserve - At 06:00 AM, before breakfast, guests will embark on a walking tour in Nyerere National Park, offering a unique way to explore the park’s natural beauty. Afterward, return to the accommodation for breakfast.

Mikumi National Park - Following breakfast at 08:00 AM, guests will drive to Mikumi National Park via Northern Selous, a journey of approximately 6 hours, traffic permitting. During the safari, expect to see a variety of bird species, zebras, hippos, hartebeests, wildebeests, impalas, warthogs, eland antelopes, giraffes, buffaloes, and elephants.

Upon arrival, guests will rest in preparation for the next day’s activities.

Guided Game Drive in Mikumi National Park

Mikumi National Park - At 06:00 AM, before breakfast, guests will enjoy a morning game drive, a prime time for spotting predation. Return at 08:00 AM for breakfast.

After breakfast, the game drive in Mikumi NP will continue, with a return to the camp for a hot lunch before resuming the drive. In Mikumi, guests will encounter a wide variety of bird species, zebras, hippos, hartebeests, wildebeests, impalas, warthogs, eland antelopes, giraffes, buffaloes, and elephants.

Mikumi National Park to Udzungwa National Park

Udzungwa Mountains National Park - At 06:00 AM, guests will explore Maasai culture in Mikumi National Park, experiencing the unique traditions of this renowned Tanzanian tribe until 08:00 AM, followed by breakfast.

After breakfast at 08:30 AM, guests will embark on a 1-hour safari to Udzungwa Mountains Lodge for a hike to Sanje Waterfall, the tallest in Tanzania, where swimming in the natural pool is encouraged (swimming attire recommended).

Upon arrival, guests will meet guides/rangers who will accompany them on the hiking tour. Udzungwa Mountains National Park is famous for its excellent hiking, trekking, mountain climbing, and forest walks. The most popular hike is to the Sanje Waterfalls, where guests can look for monkeys, swim in plunge pools, and enjoy a picnic lunch with spectacular views.

Udzungwa Forest Tented Camps to Ruaha National Park

Ruaha National Park - After breakfast at 06:00 AM, with packed lunches, guests will drive from Udzungwa Mountains NP to Ruaha National Park, an 8-hour journey.

Upon arrival at Ruaha Hilltop Lodge, guests will have lunch and then embark on a game drive across Ruaha National Park, enjoying views of the Ruaha River Valley and sightings of kudu, wildebeests, elephants, zebras, lions, hippos, hartebeests, impalas, antelopes, giraffes, and buffaloes.

Later, guests will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Guided Game Drive across Ruaha National Park

Ruaha National Park - After breakfast at Ruaha Hilltop Lodge at 07:00 AM, guests will begin a game drive across the Ruaha National Park valley.

The park features highland forests, Miombo woodlands, lowland savannah with acacia, and mixed woodlands.

Lunch will be served at 01:00 PM, followed by an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the accommodation.

Ruaha National Park Fly Back to Dar es Salaam

Ruaha National Park - After breakfast at 06:30 AM, guests will drive for 2 hours from Ruaha Hilltop Lodge to Iringa Airport to catch a flight back to Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar at 10:00 AM for further plans.
