Et`hem Bey Mosque - This is the only mosque from the 19th century still standing in Tirana. Its exquisite decoration makes it a true architectural and artistic treasure in the heart of the city.
- Clock Tower - A cultural monument since 1822, the Clock Tower stands next to the Et’hem Bey Mosque, both built by the same individual. Visitors can climb its 90 steps to enjoy a stunning view of Tirana’s main square and beyond. The Clock Tower is a significant part of Tirana Municipality’s emblem and, together with the mosque, forms a unique architectural ensemble.
- BunkArt 2 - Constructed between 1981 and 1986, this atomic bomb shelter for the Ministry of Internal Affairs is one of the last major projects of the communist regime’s bunkerization initiative, which began in the early 70s and resulted in 175,000 bunkers across the country. Known as “Objekti Shtylla,” it features 24 rooms, an apartment for the Minister of Internal Affairs, and a large hall for intercommunications. Designed to withstand chemical and nuclear attacks, it was never used for training. The entrance and exit were added recently, as the original design only allowed access from within the Ministry.
- Rruga Murat Toptani - Situated near the old Justinian fortress, one of the few remaining archaeological sites in the heart of Albania’s capital, the castle is owned by the Toptani family. This affluent family, originating from the picturesque city of Kruja, moved to Tirana in the 17th century. During Ottoman rule, some family members were appointed by the Empire to govern the Ottoman territories in Albania.
- Komiteti Bar - Tiranë - This café-museum is located in a communist-era apartment and showcases artifacts from that time, including old radios, furniture, tools, kitchenware, silverware, cups, and glasses. Travelers can enjoy coffee, refreshments, or rakia, the famous Albanian spirit.
- Enver Hoxha Pyramid - Originally a museum dedicated to the Albanian communist leader, this iconic building has served as a discotheque, cultural center, radio station, and exhibition space since the fall of the communist regime. It has now been transformed with modern architecture into the largest technological center in the Balkans, focusing on information and digital technology.
- Deshmoret E Kombit Boulevard - Constructed in the 1930s, this is Tirana’s main boulevard. Travelers will see key government buildings and learn about the modern history of Tirana and Albania. At the boulevard’s end is Mother Theresa Square, the second-largest square in central Tirana, featuring the Tirana University Building, Art University, Air Albania Arena, and other iconic and historical structures.
- Blloku - This leafy, residential area is a trendy nightlife and shopping destination, with stylish bars, cafes, and global restaurants alongside luxury boutiques. During the communist era, it was a restricted area for the party elite, and the villa of long-time dictator Enver Hoxha still stands.
- Resurrection of Christ Orthodox Cathedral - Inaugurated in 2012, this cathedral is one of the largest in the Balkans. Its beautiful mosaics and paintings have made it a popular attraction in Tirana.
