Great Job by Polar Adventures. It was really nice! - You never know how these kinds of trip will work out (no guarantee of seeing the NL), so understand we may be a bit biased. First, we did the trip in the small bus (20), versus the larger full-size which is closer to 40. Does that make difference? Certainly the smaller may be able to get to a few more places during the "chase." And perhaps just a bit more concierge feel. Now, we did this on a very cloudy day with little sky opening. Our guide was experienced and had all the tech to see where the aurora was expected and where (if any) cloud openings would be. He chose the only place that was expected to have openings, and somewhere he had not been before. So we drove for 1.5 hours and then he jumped out to look. No go first stop, 15 minutes later he did that same, came back in and said...ITS THERE. Let' find a place other than park. We were about 10 minutes outside a national park, and so drove to the large parking lot at the entrance and were were the only tour present!! We jumped out and saw the aurora. It was faint, and lasted about 30 minutes. We all got our photo with it, and then it dissipated. The guide used his tech to see the "activity" was building again, and about 30 minutes later the next wave hit, this one fairly strong. That is the photo I have attached. While we did end up seeing it better a few says later when we stayed out in the country for a few nights, this trip was still worth it. He ended up calling his sister bus and they arrived as well to enjoy the second wave. They had our photo available for free (not sure why as I thought there was cost, but great!!) for download a few days later, and that is a great memory to have! Well done Polar Adventures!!

If you call it comes: Northern Lights and magic - We had booked for the evening cruise on the fjords but at lunchtime the same day was cancelled because we were too few (16 people). They offered us a tour of the Northern Lights by minibus (or refund) and we accepted.
The minibus was not available so we went with the big bus, but in 16 it was actually very comfortable. Actually it is perhaps the tour that I liked the most (we did several minibus tours) because the guides, perhaps to compensate for the missed cruise, have worked hard. The atmosphere was magical. We stopped at several spots, had a hot drink and made marshmallows on the fire and the guide sang for us. Shortly afterwards, the Northern Lights appeared and it was special. Thank you!

Magic night - Beautiful moments spent last night with an appointment with the extraordinary Northern Lights. An unimaginable activity, a guide, Hans Eric, passionate who provided us with a thousand explanations, a very good driver, a bonfire and the discovery of Grotfjord. To do again!!!!! Great experience! - The guides Dimi and Mati were sensational telling various stories, myths and explanations about the Aurora Boreal. They took us to points with the best chance of seeing the Aurora Boreal. Always willing to help and remove doubts. The journey was quiet and very punctual. I highly recommend!

Thank you Sara, Joana, and Bogdan! - We did the big bus Aurora tour and it was fantastic - the bus was comfortable and warm; the campfire, hot drinks, and marshmallows was a lovely experience out in the snow; the snowsuits they provided were warm and comfy. We were also lucky with amazing displays of the aurora, though of course no one can really control that! However the real heroes were our two guides and our driver: Joana, Sara, and Bogdan. They were all brillliant. Bogdan was super friendly all while driving us safely to some great spots and tending to the fire. Sara and Joana both had an infectious enthusiasm and energy, created a great atmosphere, looked after everybody, were very knowledgeable, and took incredible photos, making sure everyone had a turn. Thanks to the three of them for a fantastic night!

Terrible waste of time - We went on a northern lights tour, in a mini bus, but there was another mini bus and 2 large busses going out on the same night. We all ended up at the same viewing spot on a main road with traffic going past regularly, I would guess almost 100 people at the same place trying to get photos. Then they make us wait outside of the bus in -20 while they start pointless small fire for marshmallows and Luke warm drinks.. we them pack up and move to another viewing spot, again on a major road with other buses. The final insult is that after all of that, you get 2 free photos, not with you in them, if you want to get a photo of you and lights, that costs extra, and you done get to preview the photo before you buy it. I could no recommend these people ever
