Many Northern Lights seen..... - Despite poor conditions in Tromso the Northern Lights near the Swedish border seen in all glory and many colors. So everything perfect and only recommended. Were also one of the first groups at this location and only 8 participants in total. It should also be emphasized that a thermal suit and shoes are provided here. Unfortunately, despite good conditions, the food around the campfire did not take place. The other groups did it. We ate on the bus. It's too bad.

Special Experiences! - We had an amazing night with our enthusiastic guide Klara and driver Kjell. I watched the weather and was able to switch the date to the only clear night before the snow, a helpful policy. Be on time to meet just outside of the Scandic Ishavshotel. Another large group never showed up so it was just the 4 of us. Having such a small group was very fortunate since we could ask questions and learn a lot from both. The drive was beautiful and we were early to a promising stop. There is no guarantee to see the Northern Lights but we ended up seeing the aurora almost non-stop for several hours, a truly memorable experience. We stayed out long into the early morning hours and yet Klara was able to send us photos later in the day. Artic Adventures provides winter jumpsuits, boots, dinner and hot drinks that really help when standing around outside. I hope others can experience something similar. Thanks to Klara, Kjell and the rest of the staff. We also joined the self-drive husky dog sledding tour and the Reindeer sledding and Sami culture tour. Both were also magical. Dog sledding seems to fill up quickly. The huskies are very friendly and eager. Reindeer tour is with a different group and a lot more people. Everything ran smoothly. Fun to feed the reindeer and touching to hear from the Sami people. We did this in the last week of March, right at the end of the season.

Magical Experience. - We had already spent a sunny 3 days in Oslo. The weather forecast looked bad for Tromso. Snowy, icy and cold. Landed in a slow blizzard. Plenty of news on Facebook saying their Northern Lights tours had been cancelled. Ours was later that evening. Alex our tour guide thankfully turned up. Enthusiastic & knowledgeable and motivated to go and find/chase the N.L. This would mean a 2.5 drive in treacherous snowy cold conditions towards the Finnish border. We did not cross over in to Finland so our passports were not needed. Heavy duty romper suits & big boots are provided which help to keep you warm. Special thanks to the driver Kjell to get us there & back safely. It was all worth it. The NL were on our bucket list to see and we were treated to a magical experience never to be forgotten. Partly lucky of course but thanks to Alex & Kjell to make the effort worth while. Spect over 2 hours in awe watching one of natures great changing light shows.

Amazing tour. - An amazing experience last October! Alex was very knowledgeable, and worked hard to find us a good spot. It was quiet with a small group and was wicked finally getting to see the northern lights. But even if we hadn't of seen them the stars were mesmerising. Thank you to both Alex and Svein ❤️

Experience to live at least once in a lifetime! - Magical and unique experience! Very well organized tour, from the meeting point, to the briefing, to the place where we managed to see the dawn dance. We booked a minivan tour, absolutely recommended, because it is easier to get around. Thanks to Klara, our guide, and Gro, who drove the van! Highly recommended

A long but memorable experience! - Overall, a good experience and we did see some nice lights (although be aware you can’t see with the naked eye - your camera will pick up the amazing colours). Be prepared for a long travel time - we drove for 2.5 hours both ways. After being outside for 2 hours viewing the lights our group was ready to go but our guide kept wanting us to see more. We arrived back to Tromso around 3am (left Tromso at 6pm). They provide the outerwear and boots so you don’t need to pack gear for the trip which is great. Glad we did it and now we can check it off our list.

Faulty equipment - We took the northern lights tour. You pay a premium for a guide, transportation and equipment. Going out into minus 10 it is expected that equipment is fully functional. However it turned out that there was a hole in the boot supplied to me, which left my foot frozen for the whole evening and ruined my experience.

Unreliable - Our tour was cancelled supposedly due to weather. However, our ship stayed in port the entire night, and there was no problem with the weather. This tour advertises that they will drive towards the lights to find them, however not if they don’t even try. The tours that were booked through the ship, for the exact same thing, all managed to be completed, AND they did see the Northern Lights. The four of us are greatly disappointed and would think twice about leaving such an important excursion up to them. Very very sad!
