• Chan Chan - Following Huaca Dragon, we proceed to the vast archaeological site of Chan Chan, recognized as the largest ancient city in South America. Once the hub of Chimu politics and commerce, this 7-square-mile (18-sq-km) site features shrines, cemeteries, ceremonial plazas, and reservoirs. Explore all the key elements with your guide, uncovering architectural precision and delving into its rich history.
• Museo de Sitio de Chan Chan - Situated within Chan Chan, on the left side of the road to Huanchaco, this museum showcases a variety of original objects discovered in Chan Chan, including wooden idols, ceramics, metal items, and construction materials like sun-dried mud bricks, ropes, and beams.
• Playa de Huanchaco - Finally, we visit one of Trujillo’s most vibrant towns, Huanchaco Beach, renowned for its surfing culture and the traditional “caballitos de totora,” ancient fishing boats still in use today.
