An incredible journey - Such an incredible journey! 🚍 I loved how the tour combined everything: the beauty of Melk Abbey, the fairytale charm of Hallstatt, and the cultural richness of Salzburg. It felt like three vacations in just one day.

An amazing experience - I went on this tour with a friend and we enjoyed every moment. We took hundreds of photos in Hallstatt, visited the abbey in Melk, and finished the day exploring Salzburg. A full and amazing experience.

The places we visited... - The places we visited totally worth it. Our guide Adil was very friendly, he guided us in every stop we made (around 20 min and then we were free) telling us things about every place and recommended where to go. Time spent in Hallstatt and Salzburg is enough but we could use a little more, especially in Salzburg. We started the tour a bit later than expected, so by the time we arrived in Salzburg all shops were already closed. Also it's very convenient that the van is picking you up and dropping you off to your hotel.

There were some pros and... - There were some pros and cons of this trip. We were in a nice bus and our guide was very attentive offering coffee and even gave us snacks. We had a quick stop at a store to buy our own snacks and use the restroom and our snack from him was waiting at our seat. I do wish we had known before going into the store or we wouldn't have gotten snacks. He did tell us what was going to happen.
Melk Abbey was a quick stop and the Abbey was beautiful--excellent!
It was raining and cloudy in Hallstadt so that wasn't as good as it could have been--no fault of the tour, of course. Our guide told us he'd show us the best places for pictures if we wanted to follow him. Unfortunately, we lost him very quickly. He walks fast, blends in with the crowd and we had no idea where he went. So we were on our own there.
When we got to Salzburg, we had to walk about ten minutes from where the bus parked to the tourist area. Again, he said he would give us a walking tour if we wanted to follow him. Again, he walked very fast. We were able to keep up this time (sort of) but he made so many turns and didn't wait for people to catch up that there were only four of us with him at the end. We also didn't hear anything that he said because he went so fast. We also didn't have very much time to see Salzburg.
There really isn't enough time to give enough justice to each place. If you aren't a fast walker, I don't recommend this tour.

Forget this extremely boring and uncomfortable "tour" that's nothing more than an expensive glorified bus ride. - This tour is nothing more than an extremely uncomfortable, arguably even torturous, and wholly unnecessary 8-hour bus ride, out of a total 13 hours and it doesn’t even take you into Fortress, arguably the single most important attraction in Salzburg.
Super-cramped seats – as bad or worse than an economy aircraft
The tour guide never engaged the visitors in the bus ride to Salzburg except for two brief moments. The first announcement was to observe the Abbey of Melk but when it finally came into view the thoughtless bus driver overtook a tractor trailer and blocked the entire picture taking opportunity instead of pulling behind the slower truck, perhaps affording even more photo time.
The second announcement about an interesting architectural building was made moments before it came into view rather than provide visitors with enough time to prepare to take photos. The driver also drove by quickly with no thought for the passengers and why they were there. There was no other traffic around.
The driver was constantly correcting his steering causing little jerks that woke up passengers. He took some of the curves on the side roads that had visitors shifting left and right notably in their seats as if we were in some kind of race. Lane changes were abrupt and sometimes crossed two lanes without a pause.
As we approached a town before Hallstatt (I think), the road backed up with significant traffic, a small vehicle directly in front of the bus with a hitch at the back decided to turn around. Instead of permitting the vehicle to do so, our driver inched forward and closed the space to the point where I actually had to call out to the driver, “What are you doing? Stop!” The driver purposely created an unwarranted incident. We weren’t in any kind of danger. However, I could see us either being delayed because of an accident, which would have undoubtedly caused a massive traffic jam, or possibly the hitch might have unintentionally punctured the driver-side front wheel, which consequences would be obvious.
In another incident, at a brief resting place, the road was being painted and it was a tight squeeze for the bus to get by. The driver honked at the tradesmen and a minor exchange of heated words ensued—perhaps warranted but certainly not professional.
We must have passed at least six schloss’s or other points of interest but we learned nothing about any of that. The description of the deepest lake in Austria was brief and comprised mostly of “beautiful scenery” descriptors. The guide spent most of the trip time listening to music while wearing a headset, or browsed her phone.
The bus did not have charging outlets for phones, which are a must for long-distance tours in particular.
On the positive side, they offered a couple of biscuits and coffee. The bus did have Wifi but with 50 passengers, the sessions to try to book anything timed out and we couldn’t actually do anything besides browse.
We decided not to continue with the tour and instead toured the Fortress, which was the redeeming feature of the trip and a “must see.” We travelled back by high-speed rail. The tour guide was very helpful and respectful in helping us locate the Salzburg train station. Get a reservation as well. It was packed.
Forget this tour. Take the OBB highspeed and super-quiet train which gets you to Salzburg in comfort in 2.5 hours and makes only three stops. Tour on you own in Salzburg, or find a local guide. The train runs frequently every day so you can get a full day of touring and sleep comfortably if you’re suffering from jet lag or just an intense day of walking.

Please make a clear advertising for your add on your website - We booked the tour from the Viator with the adversertusing as “ Vienna Hallstatt, Melk, Salzburg One Day Trip From $47.01”.
I
We did pay for the price for two people of $96 dollars.
The night before the tour done one from the local travel office call us to pay another 260 euros. I think this is scam to the customers.
