If interested in WWII Don’t Miss This - Mike was the perfect WWII tour guide—expertly weaving historical themes with modern era ones. He led us through many parts of Vienna with WWII significance that we would never have seen in a tour book. Mikes presentation was both intelligent and compassionate while including some lighter sides of a dark period of history.

The best of the many tours available in Vienna. - Great value for money, excellent guide, Dieter, gave an extremely informative tour. His depth of knowledge of the subject was apparent by the number of questions asked and the complete and interesting answers he gave. The tour length of 2hrs 30mins was just right. The insight into how Austrians reacted to the Annexation by Germany in 1938 was very interesting.

Dieter is our leader - Came on a recommendation and were not at all disappointed. Dieter was a super guide, very knowledgeable and able to deliver the details in a entertaining manner. This tour is about more than just Hitler, but Austria generally between the wars and the historical context. Not a difficult walk but lengthy. Comfort breaks are built in and was a lovely way to spend an afternoon in Vienna.

Our guide, Michael, was... - Our guide, Michael, was very knowledgeable and friendly. His knowledge of WW2, German & Austrian history, and Hitler was impressive. The only negative is that the headsets did not work well. Michael had extra sets to try, but they did not work well either, kept cutting in and out making it difficult to hear.

Was just OK .... - This tour does not have to be so long, especially considering the reasonable price. Our guide Wolfie was great and he is very very knowledgeable , but at each point we were stood still for no less than 20 minutes as he spoke to us, you could see that people started to fidget, look for places to sit and in the cold ( we are fit people) even my legs and back were hurting. It really was a ' standing' tour rather than a 'walking' tour, so be prepared. As others have said the reference to the ' crazy guy' was only interspersed with the many, many dates that our guide recited and as a limited historian I would have preferred a more Hitler focused timeline and the notable points in Vienna he frequented than a history of the world wars and fascism etc. Appreciate the guides have to study for years to be able to lead a tour , but I suggest 2 hours as a maximum so there is less just standing around listening to world stories to fill up the tour time as this would make the tour more dynamic.
