Yuanjiajie - The main inspiration for the movie Avatar, Yuanjiajie is home to hundreds of “Floating Avatar Mountains,” including the famous “Hallelujah Mountain.” The views here are otherworldly, making it the most renowned area in the park. The pillars in this section are larger than those in other areas.

Tianzi Mountain - Named after a local hero who led a rebellion during the Ming Dynasty, Tianzi Mountain offers a mix of historical stories and breathtaking views. The mountain’s sharp and slender sandstone peaks provide one of the most spectacular sights in Zhangjiajie Scenic Area.

Golden Whip Brook - Considered one of the most beautiful streams in China, Golden Whip Brook features a 6 km long, well-paved walkway at the bottom of a canyon. This lower perspective offers a unique view of the Avatar landscape and brings you closer to nature. The area is filled with interesting legends and stories, and you might even encounter some playful monkeys along the way. A 2-3 hour easy walk with fresh air will make you feel like you’re truly immersed in nature, far from the hustle and bustle of city life.

ZJJ Grand Canyon Glass Bridge-Yellow Dragon Cave. Overnight in Wulingyuan Center

Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge - Located in the countryside of Zhangjiajie, this is the world’s longest (430m) and first glass bridge over a natural canyon (300m high). It’s a marvel of human engineering and imagination. If time permits, you can also explore the bottom of the canyon on a 1.5-hour walk, passing a bandit cave and taking a boat ride to the exit.

Yellow Dragon Cave - Known as the second-largest cave in Asia, this “Champion of Caves” features three layers and 13 halls. The tour covers 2/5 of the cave, offering a chance to see stunning stalagmites and stalactites by foot and boat. It’s the only place to explore the beautiful inner world of Zhangjiajie.

Baofeng Lake-Tianmen Mountain-Happy Ending

Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park - Known as the “New Legend of Zhangjiajie,” Tianmen Mountain is the highest peak in the area (1500m). Visitors can walk along thrilling cliff paths and glass walkways, enjoying panoramic views of the city and countryside. The landscape here is different but equally impressive as the ZJJ National Park, making it a must-visit. The mountain holds four Guinness World Records, each offering an unforgettable experience.

Baofeng Lake - This serene lake is situated atop sandstone mountains. Here, you can enjoy views of the Avatar Mountains from the water while listening to Tujia folk songs performed by local youth in wooden boats. The experience is both relaxing and culturally enriching.
