A Journey Through Time and Lava

As a family travel writer, I’m always on the lookout for unique experiences that can captivate both adults and children alike. Lunch was a delightful affair at The Rim Restaurant, where we enjoyed Volcano Burgers with a breathtaking view of the Kilauea caldera. The kids were fascinated by the sight of the active volcano, and Zane’s stories about its eruptions kept them entertained throughout the meal.

After lunch, we explored the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, where we marveled at the Chain of Craters Road and the park’s unique geological features. Zane’s knowledge of the area was impressive, and he patiently answered all of our questions, making the experience both educational and enjoyable.

Our final stops included a visit to a local farmer’s market, where we picked up some unique Hawaiian gifts, and a taste of a sweet, tiny banana that Zane generously shared with us. The day was filled with laughter, learning, and unforgettable memories.
